Mission

Mission is a vital part of the life at Westminster. Led by a dedicated committee of Session members, with the enthusiastic support of Deacons, members and friends, and under the direction of the Holy Spirit, we strive to serve as the Lord's visible presence on earth, responding to the needs of the community and the world. Ongoing efforts include:

Collection of special offerings throughout the year to support global needs: One Great Hour of Sharing, Blankets of Hope, Tools of Hope, Peacemaking Offering, and for disaster relief
Support of local community through Community Outreach Group, dedicated offerings during the year, annual Christmas Party for children of Monmouth Medical Center, and special assistance to individuals as needed. Please read about the 2007 party in our January 2008 issue of Westminster Witness.

Current and Upcoming Mission Opportunities

The Deacons accept food donations on the first Sunday of each month to help support the food pantry at Lunch Break, Red Bank. Please remember your church when you do your grocery shopping!
2 Buy 2 Plan
The Mission Committee is asking for your help in restocking the food pantry and have launched the 2 Buy 2 plan. When you do your grocery shopping, instead of buying one can of soup, buy two - one for your use and one for the pantry. Or when you buy one can of vegetables, buy one for the pantry as well. If we each remember this vital mission each time we shop, the pantry will be restocked in no time. Non-perishable food items can be left in the plastic bins in the vestibule. Donations on the first Sunday of each month help support the food pantry at Lunch Break in Red Bank.
