Mission

Mission is a vital part of the life at Westminster.  Led by a dedicated committee of Session members, with the enthusiastic support of Deacons, members and friends, and under the direction of the Holy Spirit, we strive to serve as the Lord's visible presence on earth, responding to the needs of the community and the world.  Ongoing efforts include:

• Collection of special offerings throughout the year to support global needs:  One Great Hour of Sharing, Blankets of Hope, Tools of Hope, Peacemaking Offering, and for disaster relief

• Support of local community through Community Outreach Group, dedicated offerings during the year, annual Christmas Party for children of Monmouth Medical Center, and special assistance to individuals as needed.  Please read about the 2007 party in our January 2008 issue of Westminster Witness.

• Deacons' year-round food pantry, donation of baskets to area families at Thanksgiving and Christmas

• Deacons' annual Senior Citizens Dinner for the community

• Summer Mission Trips -- During July 2007, members and friends of Westminster joined the Rumson Presbyterian Church on a trip to D'Iberville, Mississippi, determined to make a difference in the lives of those stricken by Hurricane Katrina.  You can read all about their adventures in the August 2007 issue of Westminster Witness.
